Limited spaces remain for Fall 2020!
Located about 40 minutes southwest of our furnished apartments in College Station, TX, you can find the understated beauty of Lake Somerville State Park & Trailway. Many residents of Rise at Northgate love getting outside to explore nature and Lake Somerville is one of the more magical places in the area to do just that. Here are just a few of the reasons that we think a day trip to Lake Somerville State Park & Trailway is a great idea:
There are four different park units at Lake Somerville. The northside Birch Creek unit is connected to the southside Nails Creek unit by way of the Lake Somerville Trailway, which is 13.1 miles long and the primary trail at the lake. Each of the individual park units also has numerous side trails splintering off of it, all of which can be found on the convenient Lake Somerville State Park Trails Map. Be advised that while trails are open to hikers and bikers, horses are not allowed.
In addition to all the fun that one can have lakeside with activities like swimming, fishing, and beach volleyball, there are numerous opportunities at this state park for just about any kind of outdoor activity one can imagine. Lake Somerville is an especially great place for boating, birding, mountain biking, geocaching, and enjoying a picnic lunch. You can also rent canoes and kayaks, or reserve one of their event spaces.
We love that the sky in the Lone Star State is so vast and expansive, so it's no wonder that camping is such a beloved activity in these parts. Luckily, camping opportunities at Lake Somerville are abundant! Check out their list of camping facilities which includes sites with amenities (water and electricity), hike-in sites for primitive camping, and group sites.
Once you've had your fill of the great outdoors, you can return home to kick back and relax in your spacious apartment at Rise at Northgate. And if you're curious to know more about this friendly community, contact us today so we can show you around!
